Classic Comfort Cherry Pie

The weekend is an ideal time to treat yourself to something sweet from home craft.

If you’re tired of shopping for candy and don’t want to spend time making complicated cakes, here’s an old-fashioned recipe like made for a sweet weekend.

This kind of cherry cake was made by our grandmothers and even moms, and if you have never tried it before, here is an opportunity for that.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Line a baking sheet with greaseproof paper. In a medium bowl, mix all the dry ingredients, then in another, larger bowl, whisk the eggs with a whisk, then add all the wet ingredients.
Mix the dry and wet ingredients into a uniform mixture and pour it into a pre-prepared baking tin.

Place in the oven for about five minutes. Take it out lightly and sprinkle the cherries on top, so that they do not fall to the bottom. Then put back in the oven and bake for about 20 to 30 minutes at 180 degrees or until the cake takes on a golden color and the toothpick comes out of it dry.

Once done, decorate the cake with sour cream or powdered sugar!

3 eggs
150 ml of oil
400 ml of milk
1 baking powder
200 g of sugar
400 g flour
400 g of semolina
Cherry compote
Sour cream or powdered sugar as desired
